the Unbelievable story of reb Ajzyk dream

Posted by Keym4k3r in

All his life Izaak Jakubowicz ( reb Ajzyk reb Jekeles ) spent the honest way. He studied Torah, he worked hard, he celebrated Sabbath, yet he was not a happy man.
He expected something more, a real fortune perhaps ?
One night in his dream he heard a voice - listen to me Izaak, you must go to the bridge with figures. - - Why so ? - he asked - Trust me - was the response.
He didn't think much about it. The bridge must'd been the one in Prague.
He packed his bag and went to Prague, then walked around the famous Charles Bridge and start to look at the figures.
After a week or so of hanging around he loosed his temper, he started to cry and finally decided to jump down from the bridge.
Suddenly he was stopped by a stranger who asked the reason of the jump.
Listening to the story of Ajzyk the man started to laugh.
-Don't believe into dreams.- he said. - It's all rubbish. My nightmare, for example, is that somewhere in Krakow under an old chestnut tree in the garden of Jew Jakubowicz is a treasury chest.Do I believe into it, no way. -
Ajzyk suddenly wanted to live again. He realized that the garden the man was talking about is his own garden.
He went back to Krakow, and dug out the chest with gold from under the tree.
As a thanksgiving gift he decided to bulid a new house of prayer nearby.

[Izaak synagogue open in 1644 still stay there, now an exhibition of history of Polish Jews during W W II.]

Do believe into your dreams. The most valuable things are so close to you, but sometimes you have to travel far away to realise that.

Wherever Saint Paul the Apostle appeared during his missions, his speeches were listened by great number of people.
Once he had so many listeners, that he had to jump into the boat on the seaside, and talk to the crowd gathered on the sandy beach.

So when during the mass servicea priest talks to the believers, he could stand then in the boat, and deliver the sermon like once Saint Paul did. There some other excuses to make a pulpit boat-shaped, the boat symbol became popular in churches around Kraków area during late baroque period.

This beautiful wooden boat made before 1749 sails inside of gothic church of Corpus Christi, situated almost in the middle of the old Kazimierz district.
The boat is supported by two dolphins, and two sirens, the wooden sail has the traces of wind blowing through. On the side of the boat are medieval symbols of four evangelists: an angel, a lion, a bull and an eagle.
the sail is surmounted with two crowns, symbols of kingdom of heaven and earth.
