Wherever Saint Paul the Apostle appeared during his missions, his speeches were listened by great number of people.
Once he had so many listeners, that he had to jump into the boat on the seaside, and talk to the crowd gathered on the sandy beach.

So when during the mass servicea priest talks to the believers, he could stand then in the boat, and deliver the sermon like once Saint Paul did. There some other excuses to make a pulpit boat-shaped, the boat symbol became popular in churches around Kraków area during late baroque period.

This beautiful wooden boat made before 1749 sails inside of gothic church of Corpus Christi, situated almost in the middle of the old Kazimierz district.
The boat is supported by two dolphins, and two sirens, the wooden sail has the traces of wind blowing through. On the side of the boat are medieval symbols of four evangelists: an angel, a lion, a bull and an eagle.
the sail is surmounted with two crowns, symbols of kingdom of heaven and earth.
